Review - Touch by Jus Accardo

Author - Jus Accardo
Publisher - Entangled Publishing
Release Date - November 1st, 2011, 251 Pages
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.

Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.

Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.

A secret Kale will kill to protect.

Ah, where to begin with Kale. He shows up literally at the feet of Dez and demands her shoes, ruins them amongst other things but she is drawn to him. At first she thought that it was just to piss her dad off but once she found out that her father wasn’t the head of a law firm instead the leader of Denazen Corporation, an organization stockpiling kids with special abilities and using them as weapons. These “kids” are called the Sixes and Kale is one of them, he can kill you with his touch. (Note: If I was immune to his touch I’d be all over him cause A) just pure sexiness B) ice blue eyes…who doesn’t fall for those C) he is a protector okay I’m done now)

This is one of those books that has you on the edge of your seat because it’s so fast paced and paced full of action. I love Dez’s personality, she’s a smartass, she’s strong willed, doesn’t back down to a fight and has secrets of her own. We are learning everything out at the same time that Dez does and are you in for a shocker. One thing after another, I couldn’t put this one down. Once she has let out her secret Kale will do any and everything he can to protect her.

I love this world that Jus has created with the Sixes and their powers, I can’t wait until Toxic is released to pick up this fast paces rollercoaster to see what happens next. I had so many questions at the end of Touch that I know will be revealed in the next installment of the series. If you love an action packed story with a hot guy and a girl who can kick ass, well this is your book!

  2. Great review, I loved Touch too, but for some reason, Kale reminded me of Data from Star Trek lol. If you want more Kale, you should read the novella, Untouched
