Embrace the Forbidden
What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Sweet Evil is not just another Nephilim book out there, it’s different and unique. Wendy found a way to make the story we’ve heard - it seems a million times before - into something completely different. I loved that. I was grabbed by the first chapters and it was hard to put down. I loved the world building and learning about the Dukes of Sin and their children. The Dukes represent one of the seven deadly sins – lust, adultery, pride, envy, greed, ect. – and through their children is how they get people to sin.

Anna, our main character, was adopted from birth so she
doesn’t know the secrets of her past or her parents however she does know that
she is drastically different from anyone else. She has the ability to see
people’s emotions and can remember things that we as human cannot…say, her
being in utero and seeing her parent’s right at birth. (Note – If you can
remember that, well then, you may not be fully human and might wanna get that
looked into.) Anna’s life changes when the swoon worthy Kaidan enters her life.
Kaidan, Kaidan, Kaidan…now here is a boy to swoon over!
However you must keep in mind he is the son of lust (and is mine mwahahaha). I
love his character, or maybe I found another book boyfriend?! Either way, I
heart me some Kaidan. He’s quite a cocky one but he does his job very, very
well. So we throw in some son of lust and a southern good girl and we’ve got
quite a combination here. Question is what will happen? Will Kaidan do as he’s
suppose to and get Anna to be sinful, or will she have an influence on him and
get him to change his ways?
I loved the quirky writing style that Wendy brought into Sweet Evil, here is just an example of
some of it -
Pg. 316 “This little thing”—he made a triangle in the
air, pointing between Kopano, Kaidan, and me—“isn’t gonna fly. Don’t worry
yourselves about Anna anymore. You hear?” They both gave single nods. “Then get
on out of here. And keep your heads in the game.”
Now I’m not going to say if there was an actual triangle,
you’ll have to read this to find out. You will be in store for some great
action, hot steamy scenes, and praying that there will be a second book. If
you’re like me, it’s probably to get more time with Kaidan and the writing that
Wendy brings. If you’re an angel/demon reader then I highly suggest this to
you…well, even if you’re not I still highly suggest this to you.
