Dying sucks-- and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.
Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out.
However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't? But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not have been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

Jennifer has done it again with Cursed. I had been waiting on this book for ages and it, like all her other books, didn't disappoint. I loved Ember's character. She is such a fierce and strong-willed character. She faces things in life that some of us may relate to but on top of all that her touch can kill. Can you imagine going any amount of time trying to keep all your flesh covered in fear of killing someone? I mean the only time I'd see this as beneficial is if we are in zombie apocalypse time and then hells yes cause they fry the second they touched you...well maybe not the second but you get my point, right?
If you've read any of Jennifer's work, you know there is a uber hot guy that's always thrown in and they're always swoon-worthy (and if you haven't read her work I highly highly suggest it, you won't be disappointed). Hayden is everything that Ember is looking for, even if she doesn't know it. He pushes her to better herself and see past what she sees as a curse. He's there for her along the way and has been there long before she even knew it.
I loved the twist and the turns that we get throughout the book. I kept wondering who was involved and how certain things worked. I've said it before, Jennifer is a genius! She put her own spin on things that we've read before and I love that. The side characters were almost just as much a part in this as Ember and Hayden.
The romance in this is off the charts. Even though things couldn't get too heated they still had their hot and heavy moments. I couldn't put this one down and devoured it in mere hours. The plot line had my heart racing and pages being turned even faster as everything was unfolding. I've never been able to guess what was going to happen next, even though sometimes it seems as if I am about to, but, Jennifer up and does a twist throwing you off and back into the wondering game about what's to happen next.
